B. Asking politely someone something

Use the following forms when asking:

May I please?

Do you mind if or Will you mind if?

Is it OK if or Will it be OK if?

Does it bother you if or Will it bother you if?


Look at the following list of requests and build a sentences using the forms shown above

1. Smoke                              

2. Listen to Music

3. Cook tonight

4. Do the dishes

5. Help me on this project

6. Turn up the music

7. Buy a new purse

8. Go out tonight

9. Go to sleep early

10. Watch the game tonight


C. Chukar Cherries, a SWEET story
Listen to the following article ( http://www.npr.org/2012/08/12/158570024/chukar-cherries-offers-a-year-round-taste-of-summer and do the following:

  1. Provide a 2-3 minute summary of the story: who are the actors, where is this taking place, what is interesting about the story
  2. Was the reporter allowed to taste the  while visiting the factory?
  3. In the story, they compared chocolate cherries to what?
  4. Are there other fruits used to make candies when mixed with chocolate? Name 5 and tell me your favorite and the ones you dislike

D. Describing your favorite Pictures

In your iPad, go to the Flipboard app and find 3 pictures with multiple animals or people  and show them to me.  We'll list some of the colors you see and actions taking place
